Zarte Gewalt
Contemporary Art / Illuminated Objects · 2026
Zarte Gewalt explores the fragile relationship between innocence, aggression and the instinctive nature of living beings.
The series consists of two illuminated objects depicting contrasting animal motifs: two aggressive dogs and a leaping lamb.
While the dogs embody confrontation, dominance and the potential for violence, the lamb introduces a sense of vulnerability, innocence and movement.
Placed in dialogue, the two works create a visual tension between opposing forces: strength and fragility, threat and freedom, aggression and tenderness.
Through their illuminated presence, the animal figures become more than representations of nature. They transform into symbolic reflections on human behaviour, power and vulnerability.
Originally conceived for the entrance area of an architectural project in Zurich, Switzerland, the works exist as independent sculptural objects that can be presented individually or as a pair.
Printed on film and lit from behind, the animals take on an almost sacred presence.
