Sculptural Vase · 2025

Vases printed from a deliberately faulty file.

The code that drives the print carries an error, and the error is never the same twice. Every vessel comes off the bed with its own stutter in the outer wall: a skipped pass, a doubled ridge, a patch where the surface turns porous. The form is fixed, the skin is not.

Nothing is corrected afterwards. The flaw is the edition, which is why each of the 150 pieces is a one-off even though they share a single file. Photographed in a dishwasher rack, because a vase that cannot be repeated still has to be washed.

One file, one fault, 150 prints. The error in the code is left in place rather than patched out, so the machine writes a different surface each run.
